About Serge

Sergei Kazarian is a third-generation builder. Construction has been the family trade for as long as he can remember — and the standard he was raised on is the standard MJS is built to today: plan the work, then work the plan, and stand behind the result.

Over the past 20+ years, Sergei has personally managed and supervised more than 200 construction projects across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia markets — ground-up new builds, additions, full interior renovations, and complex commercial fit-outs.

His residential work spans single-family rebuilds and multi-unit residential developments. His commercial portfolio includes restaurant and bar buildouts, office buildouts, medical office construction, and full-scale conversions of commercial office buildings into residential properties.

The thread running through all of it: disciplined planning, hands-on supervision, and direct accountability to the owner. No layers between Sergei and the project. No layers between the owner and Sergei.

He founded MJS Management Inc to bring that standard to every client — owners, developers, investors, and commercial tenants — across the entire DMV.

1. Plan before you build.

Most construction problems are born in the planning phase, not the build phase. Weak estimates, sloppy phasing, and missing scope account for more delays and overruns than any trade ever will. We don't move dirt until the plan is locked.

2. Lead from the field, not from email.

I've never run a project from a desk and I never will. Owners hire MJS because they want a builder who's actually on site, watching trades, catching problems early, and answering for what gets done.

3. Stand behind the work.

Every change order is in writing. Every cost is documented. Every milestone is reported in plain language. If something goes sideways, the owner hears it from me — first, and directly.
